Adams Endocrinology

Radiofrequency ablation is performed as in-office procedure under local anesthesia.  The patient is awake and constantly communicated with throughout the whole procedure.  It is relatively painless and minimally invasive procedure as the area of the neck is numbed and the physician hydrodissects the thyroid capsule.  Afterwards, using the RF Medical V1000 Radiofrequency Generator to power the Radiofrequency electrode, the physician uses a high resolution ultrasound system to guide the Radiofrequency electrode into the nodule to start the ablation process.  The Radiofrequency ablation procedure lasts about 30 mins and then the patient is kept for observation.

If you have been suffering from a growing benign thyroid nodule, are looking for a non-surgical treatment and in the vicinity of Gettysburg, PA, please feel free to contact Adams Endocrinology at (717) 287-0430  for more information.
