Fluoroscopy Overview

Fluoroscopy is the technique of using imaging via X-rays to have real-time visualizations of a patient’s anatomy during an operation (Skan-C Surgical C-Arm).  Ultimately it offers a visual guide to place devices, and instruments, or manipulate tissues and bones without complication. It aids with the following procedures:

Stent Placement

You can use fluoroscopy to open narrowing or blocked blood vessels while placing small metal devices known as stents.

Catheterization Procedure

During a catheterization procedure, you can utilize a fluoroscopy device to visualize the catheter and ensure that everything is correctly positioned. This includes usage for pacemakers and angioplasties.

Biopsy Procedures

You can use fluoroscopy to ensure that the biopsy needle is correctly placed to withdraw a tissue sample from liver or bone marrow.

Joint Injections

Fluoroscopy can be utilized in the knee, hip, or shoulder joints to diagnose and treat arthritic conditions. They can also guide injections in these joints.

Spinal injections

Epidural injections or nerve blocks are examples of procedures that can use fluoroscopy to identify needle placement and ensure medication is delivered properly.

Angiography

Visualize the blood vessels to identify narrowing or blockages. Use fluoroscopy, along with a dye injected into the blood vessels, to highlight blockage areas.

Barium Studies

During barium tests, the patient will drink a liquid that contains barium. This outlines their internal organs and allows you to examine their digestive tract.

Introducing The Skan-C By Skanray

The Skan-C Surgical C-arm by Skanray is a new device that offers versatile features at a reasonable price. It is powerful yet compact to provide fluoroscopy solutions for your neurology, orthopedic, peripheral vascular, or interventional pain management applications.

This C-arm is a robust and compact, low-radiation device. The Skan-C offers a fully integrated compact HF X-ray generator. This allows for high performance with minimal leakage radiation while achieving longer exposure times.

The unity power factor controller operates in the range of 99V to 254 V AC. This produces high resolution imagery that can be displayed with versatile input variation. With pulsing, it can perform examinations at low doses.

Further Details For The Skan-C Surgical C-Arm

Advantages of a Skan-C surgical C-arm include:

Size

Its compact size allows you to save space in a clinical operating room.

Low Lateral Height

This helps eliminate skin irradiation levels, and accommodate low height patient handling systems. Counterbalances allow it to be adjusted on every plane and easily maneuvered by the physician or assistant.

Easy To Use

Quiet, smooth and fluid movement are all qualities of this state-of-the-art C-arm. High grade monitors offer you viewing from different angles on a small footprint monitor card.

An intuitive graphical user interface makes handling procedures faster. You can use annotation measurements, store options and space saving multi-form print to customize reports.

Warranty And Service

Offering one of the best warranties on the market, you can rest assured that the manufacturer stands behind their product.

Support teams can log into the system remotely to handle any software issues that may arise or updates that need to be performed. Furthermore, service technicians can arrive on site in short order.

UPS Battery Backup

This helps eliminate electrical damage and even total system loss if the power cord happens to be removed.

Lightning Fast Speed

The application can reboot within 15 seconds.

Remote Diagnostics

Save time, and stress on your medical center and money with remote service options and diagnostic capabilities.

DICOM Integration

Transfer images to a secure database seamlessly.

JPI Anti-Scatter Grid

This removable anti-scatter grid allows versatility and can be out of sight when not needed.

Effortless Balancing

The C-arm moves without effort or strain to provide any angle needed during procedures.

Minimal Scatter

Achieve a lower radiation dose for the patient while maintaining high quality imaging. Additionally, keep track of the total dose for returning patients and record doses of the study.

Preset Features

Choose from DSA, Trace & Roadmap, or Vascular Mode as standard settings.

10.4 Inch TFT LCD Touch Console

The console also comes with hotkeys for easy operation, and an optical encoder.

EDGE Detection Filter

Used for orthopedics procedures, you can visualize metal and bone to place hardware appropriately.

Differences Between C-Arms With Flat Panel Detectors And Image Intensifiers

Primarily the technology used is different, whereas the end effect is similar. Image intensifiers amplify electrons from the X-ray.

A phosphor screen emits the light that produces the image. These can emit low radiation but tend to wear down over time faster than FPDs.

Flat panel detectors, on the other hand, are solid-state devices that convert X-rays into electrical signals. This process creates higher image quality, higher dynamic range, and low noise. It is also less affected by ambient light and less vulnerable to wear and tear compared to image intensifiers.
