Thyroid radiofreqeency ablation course

AUDIENCE

This course is designed for otolaryngologist – head and neck surgeons, endocrine surgeons, endocrinologists, radiologists and general surgeons.

course overview

This hands on training course will provide up to date information regarding the application of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in the management of thyroid nodules, featuring expert lectures, hands-on training and cadaver sessions. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. CME credit is not offered for this course.

Objectives

  • To familiarize participants with the basic techniques,
    indications and complications of minimally invasive
    image-guided thyroid nodule RFA
  • To increase the understanding of clinicians of the
    expected and worrisome features on post-ablation
    surveillance imaging
  • To increase the confidence of clinicians when
    discussing the pros and cons of RFA to patients under
    their care

World-Renowned Course Faculty

Dr. David Goldenberg

Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State Health, Dr. Goldenberg’s clinical practice includes head and neck cancers, thyroid cancers and parathyroid disease, and RFA of thyroid nodules. His latest book, “Head & Neck Endocrine Surgery – A Comprehensive Textbook, Surgical, and Video Atlas” is the most comprehensive textbook to date on the subject of thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

Dr. Leonardo Rangel

Chief Head and Neck Surgeon at Rio de Janeiro State University, Dr. Rangel is dedicated to thyroid and parathyroid minimally invasive procedures with a focus on thyroid ablation techniques and endoscopic/robotic thyroidectomy. He is the co-author of “Ablative Techniques International Guidelines” and coordinator of several educational initiatives on ablative techniques and endoscopic thyroidectomy

Dr. Ralph Tufano

Director of Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery at Sarasota Memorial Health Care, Dr. Tufano is a thyroid and parathyroid surgeon in the Southwest Florida region specializing in hyperparathyroidism, thyroid nodules, early, advanced and recurrent thyroid cancers, neck lymph node metastases, goiter and Graves’ disease.

Dr. Jon Russell

Director of the Division of Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Russell manages a broad range of thyroid and parathyroid surgical pathology and specializes in scarless transoral thyroidectomy, RFA of thyroid nodules, and parathyroidectomy. Dr.Russell is also the Director of the Johns Hopkins Multi-Disciplinary Thyroid Tumor Center.

Dr. Erivelto Volpi

Course Fee

The course fee per participant is $1,000 USD. Payment will be accepted via mailed check and must be received by Wednesday, May 1, 2024, or your spot will be opened to the wait list. The registration fee includes expert lectures, hands-on training and cadaver sessions. Meals will be provided during course time.
